I could photograph weddings in Niagara-on-the-Lake every day!! Ichiro contacted me via email from Japan to photograph his marriage to Mari at the Vineland Estates Winery, an absolutely beautiful little spot outside of Niagara-on-the-Lake. It was an intimate gathering on a Tuesday afternoon with 20 of their closest friends and family. It was a bit of a challenge during photos as many of their guests and the bride herself spoke very little english! Luckily, I’m good at charades at mimed out poses to them (my silly antics also seemed to break the ice and get some laughs!)

While we wandered the vineyards for our photo session, the guests sampled wines inside. The sky was absolutely AMAZING during our photo session (it’s not enhanced in these photos!) and it started to downpour right as we were finishing up. Right before dinner, the sun came out and Julie (my assistant) and I ran outside from different directions both suspecting that there was a rainbow – we were right! Two in one year (Karen & Barry also had a rainbow at their Distillery District Wedding) – we’re lucky photographers! Congrats Mari & Ichiro, it was such a pleasure meeting you both and being a part of your wedding day!
