Kim & Paul

{Family Home London Ontario Wedding Photography}

Not going to lie, backyard / farm weddings are always my favorites! I am a little biased as I chose to get married in my parents backyard – there is just something so personal and comfortable about getting married at a place that you can revist time and time again. I am sure in the future, like I do, when Kim & Paul visit her parent’s house they will have fond memories of their beautiful wedding day! Kim is an interior designer and no detail was missed for their elegant tented reception. Thanks to wedding planner Amy from Unmistakably You for making sure everything ran smoothly the day of!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less:  Casual elegance

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day? Bride:  Finally getting to see Paul’s face as I walked down the aisle was the highlight of my day but there were so many great moments with our family and friends that day.
Groom: Like Kim said, there were so many great moments with family and friends like getting to spend time with my guys just before the wedding.  But my favorite moment was waiting for Kim to walk down the aisle.and the anticipation of getting to see my beasutiful bride.

Best wedding related decision:   We had looked at other venues but finally decided on having it at my parents place.  It allowed us to do so many things ourselves for that personal touch and provide the vision that I really wanted.  Also, every time we drive into my parents place, we pass the spot where we were married and I can smile at the memories!

Favourite detail:   So many of the details were created by us so it’s hard to pick just one but Paul and I come from a long line of couples that made their marriages work.  We paid respect to that with photos of our parents and grandparents in the entryway of the reception tent and I think that would have to be my favourite.

Advice for future brides & grooms:   Weddings can be very stressful even when you have a great support team around you.  My advice would be to follow your heart in all your decisions and be as organized as possible.  That way, when something does happen you can say, ” We did it the way we wanted it to the best of our abbilities.”

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again?   I wouldn’t change anything other than maybe practice our first dance a bit before the big day.

Best surprise of the day:  The weather!  It was pouring rain when we first woke up and the forecast was calling for thunderstorms during our outdoor ceremony.  But the skies cleared up and we had a beautiful day!

Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?): #612 this picture is beautiful in it’s simplicity.  All it is is Paul and I hugging and smiling set against the bright blue sky.  It’s absolutely stunning!
