Hilary & Matt

{Millcroft Inn Wedding Photography}

Hilary and Matt celebrated their wedding tucked away with their closest friends and family on a chilly fall day. The rain may have changed the plans for an outdoor ceremony, but that didn’t stop us from capturing some gorgeous fall photos afterwards. Thank you to this fantastic wedding party for braving the cold with us. Hilary and Matt are such an adorable couple and I am so glad you chose me to photograph your wedding day!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: intimate, cosy, vintage, fun

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: listening to speeches from family and friends, dancing with my new husband to the last song of the night, Royal Wood’s ‘Lady in White’
Groom: Seeing Hilary for the first time in her dress. Reading our vows. Dancing like a fiend!

Best wedding related decision: keeping our guest list small by only inviting close family members and long-time friends; there was love in the air throughout our entire day

Favourite detail: the sash on Hilary’s dress (Matt), the beautiful flower arrangements (Hilary) , Hilary’s hand-made details

Advice for future brides & grooms: follow your instincts for what you both envision your day to be, and make a conscious effort to be present and mindful during the day. The day after our wedding, we wrote down all we could remember from the day before we could forget. We are so glad we have this for the future.

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? nothing!

Best surprise of the day: Hilary’s wedding gift to me, which she had bought years ago when we were first dating, unbeknownst to me. She knew I was the one even back then.

Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?): Picture 141 – If Lindsay didn’t take this photo, it would have been a moment lost in time. This was immediately after the ceremony, so I think that we were lost in the moment. We’re so glad to have that reminder.

Matt spotted this very unique fishing knife on a vacation years before the proposal and Hilary secretly bought and stored it knowing that he was ‘The One’ and she would one day give it to Matt on their wedding day. How romantic is that?!

I just love the dynamic of a group of best buds on a wedding day:)
