Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Soft, romantic and quaint. A casual get together but with a beautiful backdrop!

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: The anticipation of walking towards my husband’s back, and to see the look on his face when he turned around to see me for the first time for our first look photos and the moment we were introduced as Husband and Wife.  As well, my dad singing “Kooks” by David Bowie, and the moment JP was invited into my family during speeches.

Groom: Seeing my future wife for the first time, the walk seemed to take forever for her to get to me but it was well worth the wait!  As well, looking into my Wife’s eyes while reciting our vows to each other and choking back the urge to ball my eyes out because she looked so beautiful; I can’t believe I get to be with her for the rest of my life!

Best wedding related decision: Having HRM and Heather herself capture our life changing moment!  HRM Photography was the first page I ever followed when Facebook became a “thing”.  I always said that when I got married, if ever, I would definitely try my hardest to book with her.  Our pictures are exactly what I had ever hoped for and more!!  Secondly, our wedding party was amazing, they both came from far distances and we were so thrilled they could make it to be a part of this journey with us.

Favourite detail: I loved our Guest Book!  I had an artist sketch me a tree on canvas to have our guests place a thumbprint on a branch.  Over the many years to come we can look at our tree and see all the people who helped our marriage grow.

Advice for future brides & grooms: Things will go wrong.  Everyone had told me this, and you think to yourself “Oh no, I have planned every single detail just perfectly”, but in reality things do get missed or overlooked.  In the moment of your day you just need to let it go and enjoy yourself with your new partner, family and friends.  The song I had chosen for walking down the aisle was incorrect but I looked at who was with me at the time and said to myself “I am not letting this ruin my moment, I am about to marry my best friend – let’s do this!”

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again?  I wish I could have tried some of the food, but other than that, I wouldn’t change a thing!

Best surprise of the day: My niece, the flower girl didn’t get scared walking down the aisle.  She actually let go of my sister’s hand and said “No mom, I can do it myself”, and she did it brilliantly!

Anything else you’d like to add: Getting married to your best friend is truly one of the happiest days of your life!
