Windermere Manor Wedding Photography

{Megan + Adam}

I’m at a loss for words for this one as there’s just so much to say – Megan and Adam are such genuine, beautiful, loving people and their wedding was a true reflection of these qualities. Within minutes of them walking into my office we realized that Adam and I attended the same public school and that we all attended the same high school. I was crossing my fingers and toes that they’d book me as their photographer and am so happy that they did! Since their wedding, my hubby & I have discovered we have many common interests (ranging from craft beer to home birth) and have created a great friendship with this awesome couple. Megan & Adam, I’m so happy you came into our life and I can’t wait to photograph your growing family!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Laid-back, natural, fun, and personal

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day? (Megan): Reading our own vows to each other. We had written them separately but it was amazing to hear how similar they were when we read them to each other. And just being able to celebrate the day with our closest friends and family. (Adam): Standing at the end of the aisle waiting for Megan and being blown away when she came around the corner.

Best wedding related decision: Making our own jam – three different kinds – from scratch, including picking all the berries, and making the labels. It was a lot of work but so worth it! Also hiring HRM Photography:)

Favourite detail: A combination of so many homemade details – like the the jam, the photo-booth Adam made, and the handmade table signs and amazing guest book poster made by close friends. We wanted the wedding to be really personal by creating a lot of items ourselves and with the help of our awesome friends and wedding party! Also, we loved our cake – it was so unique!

Advice for future brides & grooms: Try not to stress about all the little details. We had some things that didn’t go according to plan that day but we honestly didn’t even notice because the most important part of the day is that you’re getting married!

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? Not stress about all the little things before! haha. There is really nothing we would change, other than maybe booking the date a bit sooner in advance so we could have made sure to have everyone we wanted there. Oh, and definitely hire HRM for at least 8 hours instead of the 5 we did!

Best surprise of the day: (Megan): When Adam surprised me after dinner by serenading me with a song by our favourite musician, Ben Harper. I know he must have been really nervous but he was so good, it was really sweet. (Adam): When my brother handed me a note and gift from Megan – an amazing personalized engraved wooden swiss army knife that she knew I was in love with.
