Kristen + Adam

{Toronto Island Wedding Photography}

This wedding will go down as having the best sunset ever! You will see it, keep scrolling! This was definitely the hottest day of the summer and we were lucky to be on the island, as there was a lovely breeze to enjoy! I was also lucky to have Lindsay second shoot with me, always a bonus treat to work with her! Together we created some amazing images! The ceremony was light-hearted and setimental, cries, laugh and tons of smiles! The food, let me know tell you, it was the BEST wedding food I have ever had, I can still taste the quinoa salad & chicken! Thank you Kristen and Adam for having us be a part of your wonderful day, we had a great time and are soooo happy we caught that amazing pink sunset!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Relaxed, Intimate & Amazing Food

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: Taking the water taxi back to the city at the end of the night. The weather was beautiful and it was one of the first moments we had time to really relax and let the day fully sink in.
Groom:  When Kristen first walked down the aisle and all the guests gasped. I was originally confused and thought something was wrong, but all their heads were turned towards her. It was a beautiful moment and the first time it hit me that we would be husband and wife by the end of the day.

Best wedding related decision: We absolutely loved our vendors. We chose a venue that had special meaning for us but it came with difficulties beyond just the logistical issues we expected. All of our vendors went above and beyond to make sure the day was amazing.  Our catering team set up an entire kitchen on the lawn of our venue and served some of the best meals our guests had ever tasted. The water taxi got us all to the island and back on one of the busiest days of the year while navigating PanAm sailing events. Our DJ managed to get all of our guests dancing in 30+ degree heat, and Niki and Lindsay were able to wrangle both our family and ourselves for some amazing photos (not an easy task!) while keeping everything fun and relaxed for us.  Working with such great people was one of the highlights of our wedding.

Favourite detail: We can’t pick one, overall we loved that all the little details came together in the end.

Advice for future brides & grooms: All the advice you get before the wedding will only truly hit home after the wedding.  In retrospect, the best advice we got was to pick a few things that are special to you and keep the rest simple and generic. There is a reason everybody does it.

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? We would have hired a wedding planner to handle communication with the venue and help coordinate set-up.

Best surprise of the day: All of the speeches our friends and family made. They ranged from hilarious to embarrassing to heartfelt and we loved every single one.
