Kate + Andrew

{Paletta Mansion Burlington Ontario Wedding Photography}

Kate and Andrew’s day was another incredibly hot mid-September wedding, but that didn’t put a damper on the laughter and happiness of their day! We knew it was going to be a blast of a day when Kate had an accidental first look with her dad! Both of their reactions were absolutely hilarious! It’s not very often we get to shoot weddings in Burlington, and this was our first one at Paletta Mansion. From getting to explore the rocky lakeshore to the stunning castle-like like venue, it really was a photographer’s playground! Getting to spend the day with this fun loving and laid back couple only made it better!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Easygoing, intimate, fun

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: Walking down the aisle after fretting all day about set up and trying to memorize my vows; then just seeing Andrew waiting for me and just letting it all go and enjoying the moment.
Groom: Seeing Kate for the first time walking down aisle. Our officiant was great with his many seemingly unplanned history lessons. Speeches from everyone were all really well done — thoughtful and funny.

Best wedding related decision: So many! Doing low key decor with lots of greenery but getting the Juliet roses I really had wanted, we did a lot of the decor ourselves and while it made the day of busy I really enjoyed it! Our DJ and HRM photographers were fantastic and made the day for us. Having our wedding cake made by my bridesmaid was perfect, it tasted way better and cost so much less! The Hersey’s Kiss chocolate-kissing game set the tone so perfectly for dinner.

Favourite detail: Having our sweetheart table with the chaise that both sets of parents helped to restore. Andrew and I were able to spend some private time together during meals and it allowed us to get up and walk the room to say hello to everyone without a formal receiving line.

Advice for future brides & grooms: Hire a wedding planner if you want, do it all yourself if you want. Whatever it is that works for you make it happen. It’s such a fantastic day for you and your partner that should be FOR you and your partner.

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? Nope! It was perfectly us.

Best surprise of the day: My father’s speech (father of the bride), we were all sure he would roast me as he had my brother, but instead he came out with a really emotional sweet speech.
