Emily + Nick

{Ancaster Old Mill Wedding Photography}

I’m not sure why it always rains when we’re about to photograph an outdoor wedding at Ancaster Mill…but thankfully it seems to clear up just in time like it did for Emily and Nick! So much love at this wedding and we were so happy to capture all of the sweet moments. This also marks one of the yummiest dinners I have had at a wedding!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: fun, romantic, celebratory

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: Seeing Nick’s smiling face as I walked down the aisle; being able to celebrate the day with so many of our friends and family (Unfortunately one of Nick’s grandmothers has since passed on, but we will always have the memory of her celebrating with us)
Groom: Seeing Emily for the first time as she walked down the aisle

Best wedding related decision: Our venue

Favourite detail: The handmade guest book Emily made

Advice for future brides & grooms: Take time to enjoy the day, and don’t sweat the small stuff (even if your husband loses your wedding speech!)

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? Nope!

Best surprise of the day: The rain stopping just in time for our outdoor ceremony and the sun coming out for pictures

Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?): How can we pick just one?! We love the black and white picture of us kissing on the covered bridge. The black and white is very classy, and I love our shadows on the ground behind us. We also love the picture of us looking at the camera with the blurred waterfall in the background. The waterfall is what sold us on the venue.

WEDDING SONGS: Entrance: You make my dreams by Hall and Oats | First Dance: Feels like Home by Chantal Kreviazuk | Father & Daughter: Somewhere over the rainbow/Wonderful World: Israel kamakawiwo’ole | Mother & Son: All my life: The Beatles

We love running into past HRM couples at weddings! Janine & Chris and Stephanie & Ben were both in attendance!
