Cassie & Jon

Taboo Resort Wedding

Oh, how I wish I could click my heels together and find myself back in Muskoka:) Cassie and Jon picked such a beautiful spot for their wedding and I don’t think anyone would be able to tell how ill Cassie was feeling due to food poisoning (I wondered if she was going to mention it at all in her comments below:) You could definitely feel the love in the air and I enjoyed every sunny moment of this wedding day.

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Personal, Comfortable, Beautiful and Fun!

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?

Bride: Holding my dads arm as I walked up the isle, turning the corner and seeing Jon for the first time.  Seeing the look on Jon’s face- it was of pure joy.

Groom: watching Cassie walk down the isle with her dad.

Best wedding related decision: Not having a long engagement and choosing Muskoka as our location.

Favourite detail: That is a hard one. I LOVED my dress and my flax flowers.  The memory tree and candy table really added that personal feeling we both really wanted. Oh and the bon fire with smoores!

Advice for future brides & grooms: Anything can be done with love and determination. Never hesitate to ask for help. Don’t be afraid to ask for things from vendors- you will be surprised how much free stuff and discounts you can get. Remember that you can not please everyone.

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again?  I don’t think we would change anything really- expect make the day longer and freeze moment of it so it would last.

Best surprise of the day: My maid of honour reading a picture book as a part of her speech.  Oh and having food poisoning the night before- that really wasn’t planned!

Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?):  There are so many, but the Muskoka chair photo we used for our thank you cards would have to be one of the tops. I also love the ones with my niece when she was throwing up her blanket and you see glimpses of her purple underwear.  Honestly it is hard to choose because Lindsay really captured Jon and I as a couple. There are so many photos that show our ‘looks’ that we give one another and it is so special to have them on film.

Anything else you’d like to add: Weddings and wedding planning are a CRAZY time. It is hard to not get caught up in all the fuss that comes with a wedding and two families merging together. Remember that things DO go wrong, people DO make mistakes, and unplanned hiccups DO happen (like getting food poisoning the night before)- And at the end of the day you will be a married couple and have a FULL life ahead of you. And that is what truly matters most! Having photos to look back on are an essential and fundamental part of the day. The girls at HRM are AMAZING – so easy to communicate with, friendly to work with, and truly do love taking photos. Just look at ours and you will see how talented these ladies are! We can not thank them enough!
