Cassie & Andrew

Cassie & Andrew’s wedding was simply awesome! We loved every minute of it – a totally hilarious and fun wedding party, one of the best photo booths ever, perfect lighting and tons of DIY details. Looking back on these photos I barely remember it was SO hot my eyeballs were sweating! Congrats on a fantastic celebration Cassie & Andrew and thank you so much for having us be a part of it!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: fun, outdoorsy, lighthearted, elegant

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day? Bride: finally seeing andrew after what seemed to be the longest morning/afternoon and processional. breaking the cheese.
Groom: My favorite moment was longer than just a moment.  It started when Cassie appeared at the top of the path leading down into the valley. It was quite the distance from where I was standing so I couldn’t make out much more than the white dress.  The moment lasted for a minute or two as she made her way down the hill, her beauty being revealed to me every step of the way.

Best wedding related decision: having everything onsite (ceremony, reception and having everyone – hair, makeup – come to us). also how we set up the ceremony layout, the elmhurst had never thought to do it that way before but it gave us a beautiful, simple natural backdrop.  and the ridiculously long aisle worked because by the time i got to the bottom of the hill i had worked out the initial excitement/nerves of it all and could really take in the final steps up the aisle.

Favourite detail: all of the wood decorations (wedding sign, frame of old wedding photos, box on cheese table) were made by andrew the week of our wedding from our old fence boards we pulled down.

Advice for future brides & grooms: it is easy to get caught up in all the details, pick just a few things that are important to you and focus on them, all that matters is that you enjoyed your day.

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? nope

Best surprise of the day: well the surprise came 2 days before when we happened, accidentally, to locate a set of official italian parmesan cheese knives that had been used to win a guiness world record in cheese breaking. the owner let us borrow them for the day.

Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?): this is tough. 524 – we were in that spot 2 years earlier when i had thought andrew was going to propose, that didn’t come for another year.  but the shot is just beautiful and the light coming through is breathtaking.
