Cara & Dave

London Ontario Wedding Photography

I was just thrilled when Cara and Dave asked me to shoot their wedding! I’ve known Dave for quite a few years as he used worked at Call the Office – my local hangout and where my hubby and I had our wedding reception in July 2005. I also used to work with Dave’s best man, Brett and knew many of their wedding guests. All these connections made me excited for their big day but also a little nervous! I asked Lindsay to come to London to help me out and I think we got some outstanding shots!
Cara is a recent graduate from the textile program at Sheridan and her artistic flair was obvious in many details of the wedding. Her mom made both her and Cara’s dresses, Cara made her head piece and did much of the decorating. It’s always nice to photograph someone who has an art background – they always seem to inspire us to be extra creative. It was very hard for me to narrow down the photos so there’s a bit more than usual. Here are my faves….

At the last minute, Cara asked her bridesmaids to redo her hair… a brave girl but they ended up doing a great job!

Her bridesmaids got quite teary when they saw Cara in her dress for the first time

We did all the photos at a beautiful victorian house that really suited Cara’s dress style

Dave and his best man arriving… looking like the FBI!

Seeing each other for the first time

The ceremony was held in the greenhouse of the London Civic Gardens, a very tropical looking location. Here’s Dave waiting before it begins and the happy couple being announced

Instead of clinking glasses, guests were asked to use the little bells provided to make the couple kiss. Their best man however, brought his own bell and rang it all night long!!

The kids were kept occupied with a photo scavenger hunt… one of the tasks: The bride and groom in the washroom together!

Sharing a wedding cupcake

When the bouquet was tossed the flower girl caught it effortlessly

Their first dance, to a Ramones song, brought back memories of my own wedding and made me more teary than usual (I walked down the aisle to the Ramones). Good choice guys!
