Allie + Kyle

{Grand Sunset Princess Riviera Maya Mexico Wedding Photography}

I was so excited to travel to Riviera Maya, Mexico for Allie & Kyle’s wedding, my first destination wedding! Allie & Kyle has a beautiful sunset ceremony which included the most perfect soft overcast light!That with the ocean was simply amazing, and her wedding colours worked so well, soft and subtle. The only downside to having a sunset ceremony was I had very limited time to get all the photos done before it was pitch dark! I managed to superstar my way into getting all the portraits and family photos done in 20 minutes after the cerermony. The small group of guests that came with Allie & Kyle knew how to party, the dance floor was blazing untill after last call, the party pictures speak for themselves! Thank you Allie & Kyle for bringing me down to Mexico to capture this amazing day for you and your loved ones!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Elegant, relaxed, personal, love filled and FUN

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: So many… coming down the aisle to see Kyle, our vows and extremely beautiful service, walking the beach with Kyle, the dancing, just taking all the love in
Groom: Watching Allie round the corner of the aisle with her dad (I swear we didn’t coordinate those answers!)

Best wedding related decision: Doing a destination wedding. We had a small group (50) of family and our closest and best friends. It kept our wedding personal and intimate, which was really important to us. Plus we were able to spend a week with everyone instead of just a few hours, which was so wonderful! The other best decision was flying Niki to Mexico to take our photos. AMAZING decision.

Favourite detail: Writing our own vows. They made our wedding OURS.

Advice for future brides & grooms: Remember to spend time with eachother! It’s so easy to get wrapped up in making sure you visit with your guests and worrying about everyone else that you can easily forget to love and laugh with your new husband/wife.

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? Honestly, absolutely nothing.

Best surprise of the day: The letter Kyle had written for me to read the morning of the wedding.

Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?): Oh my gosh that is SO hard! There are just so many! But I think the moment Niki captured of Kyle and I walking back up the aisle with our champagne. I love it because she so perfectly captured the joy and love we experienced in that moment, and if I could choose one photo that represented the mood and experience of our wedding, it’s that one.

Anything else you’d like to add: I can’t say enough about Niki and her talent as a photographer. When I look through our photos I always cry because she truly captured the love, beauty and sheer fun of that day, and also exactly who Kyle and I are as a couple. We are beyond thankful to her
