{Forest City National Golf Club Wedding Photography}

Ferris and Dave were married on a beautiful summer day at Forest City National Golf Club. They had lots of personalized touches for their tent reception and had their first dance under the open sky! It was a beautiful day!

Jessica + Chris
{Bellamere Winery Wedding Photography}

What a rainy wedding season we had last year! Bellamere is always a favorite spot of ours, and we have had lots of practice making the best of rainy days on their beautiful property! Jessica and Chris are a great couple who took the rain in stride and we had a wonderful day with them!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Rustic elegance

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?

Bride: It's hard to pick a favourite memory because everything was amazing, but I really enjoyed the speeches. Hearing all of the nice stories and memories that our friends and family share with us, the aspects of our relationships they value and feeling the support they have for us was very special.

Groom: Seeing Jess for the first time as she walked down the aisle.

Favourite detail: We were really happy with how our décor turned out! The atmosphere at Bellamere is so cozy and the architecture is so beautiful on its own that it doesn’t need much in the way of décor, so the combination of our lighting, linens, floral arrangements and homemade touches really created exactly the look that we wanted.

Advice for future brides & grooms: No matter how busy you get, how hectic things get, or how much fun you are having, take a moment to step back, take a deep breath and really take everything in. Be proud of the hard work you have put in making the day what it is and be happy knowing that all of your closest family and friends are gathered in one room because they love you! And be excited knowing that, once all of the excitement of the big day is over, you get to spend the rest of your life with your best friend! Most importantly (and you will hear this many times throughout your planning, but it’s true), your guests won’t notice if something turns out differently than you planned, so don’t worry if everything doesn’t go exactly according to plan!The day will be amazing regardless. We attribute the success of the day to our incredible vendors! We would recommend that future brides and grooms choose vendors that have a great reputation, rather than those that are inexpensive. They have that great reputation for a reason!

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? We wouldn’t change a thing!

Best surprise of the day:

Bride: When I arrived at Bellamere for the ceremony I had some time to spare. Since I had not seen the reception space, Patti secretly took me to see how everything had come together. This was great because it eased my nerves and it was fun knowing all of our guests were on the other side of the doors and couldn't see me!

Groom: While taking photos outside, Patti brought us a platter of the hors d'ouvres to eat!

Sanja + Graham
Bellamere Winery Wedding Photography

Rain, rain, go away! That's what I was singing in my head for most of the day on Sanja & Graham's wedding day! We made some last minute schedule adjustments, and ended up going to the amazing Church Key restaurant (where he proposed!) for some photos when the rain was unbearable but you really can't tell looking back on these photos what a wet, drizzly day it was! The bright pop of colours stood out against the grey sky and looked amazing! Thanks to this happy couple for going with the flow and trusting us to get amazing photos no matter what the weather gods had in store for us!

Lara + Neil
{Idlewyld Inn Wedding Photography}

Perhaps one of the sweetest weddings we've had the pleasure of photographing - small in numbers, big in LOVE. Lara & Neil shared their vows in an intimate ceremony with just their immediate families on a weekday in September (more weekday weddings please!). I have photographed many of Lara's friend's weddings and it was so exciting that it was finally her turn! We were sad that we couldn't make it to their Toronto reception, but small world that it is, found out one of our photographer friends was attending and got him to set up a sneaky surprise (photos from this wedding day framed at their reception) a few days later! Congrats Lara & Neil, we will always remember your sweet wedding day and how lucky we were to be a part of it!

- Heather

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Relaxed weekday garden wedding.

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: Having a relaxed breakfast at the Idlewyld together on our wedding day. How much my heart was pounding before seeing Neil in his wedding attire for the first time. Taking a moment by ourselves in the Civic Gardens after the ceremony and before we drove back to the Idlewyld for dinner.
Groom: The beautiful, sunny day. Killing time and eating room service before the big moment. When my family arrived and we put on our flowers. Debating whether to scare Lara during our first look. Choosing not to (at the last minute) and just soaking in her beautiful dress! The look of forgiveness in Lara's eyes when we realized I forgot the marriage license at the hotel! The beautiful small ceremony. Driving away with beer cans on the car. My first dinner as a married man at the Idlewyld.

Best wedding related decision:
Bride: Getting married on a Thursday! Having two wedding events (the Thursday legal ceremony and a party with our friends and family in Toronto on Saturday) allowed us to spread out the festivities and celebrate our marriage the way we wanted to.
Groom: Overall, asking Lara to marry me was a pretty great decision. On the day, wearing funky socks, I guess.

Favourite detail:
Bride: My dress was made by my Gramma. It was originally my Mum's wedding dress in the 1970s (and had large cape-like sleeves and a bigger skirt) and I had it altered to update it. My Gramma passed away last year, so it was significant to wear something she had put love and energy into.
Groom: The park / gazebo turned out to be a perfect place to get married. We loved that some older folks sat and watched from a bench and we felt lucky to have such a beautiful day.

Advice for future brides & grooms:
Bride: Make decisions that are meaningful to you instead of the way it's "supposed" to be.
Groom: I second Lara here. Tradition shmadition. Do what feels like 'you' and you can't go wrong.

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again:
Bride: I would eat less at dinner so I could have more room for champagne after our families went home.
Groom: not a thing.

Best surprise of the day:
Bride: The flowers! They were more wonderful than I had imagined. I had loved the idea of having anemones but our florist Tania told me she didn't know if she would be able to get them. Then on the day she surprised us with Neil's anemone bout, and there were some in my bouquet as well. And my flower crown was a last minute-ish decision which Tania whipped up and it was so perfect. She is such a talent.
Groom: I wasn't nervous. It was peaceful and happy, through and through.

VENDORS: Ceremony Location: Civic Gardens gazebo (it was FREE!) | Reception Location: Idlewyld Inn drawing room | Officiant: Rev. Lori Hisson | Dress: Annie Davis, altered by the brilliant Maegan McWade at Shoppe & Tailor in Toronto | Flowers/Decorator: The amazingly talented Tania Dupon-Martinez |

We love this couple so much we had to get into a photo with them too!

The bride and groom react at their Toronto reception when surprised with prints from their wedding day!! LOVE IT!
