Amanda + Dave
{Bellamere Winery Wedding Photography}

Amanda & Dave had the perfect overcast day will little breaks of sunshine for their wedding! Dave is a mechanic for Porsche and was hooked up with a sweet car for the wedding day that we used as a great prop! Amanda put SO MUCH love into all the details for their beautiful cocktail reception, from the stacked candy bar to the awesome homemade signs! The most hilarous moment was the garter toss, Amanda at some point during the day lost her garter and when it came time for the toss, Dave was struggling to find something that wasn't even there! Congrats Amanda & Dave, it was truly a pleasure capturing these memories for you to look back on for years to come!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less:  Modern, romantic, fun, timeless, and just 'us!'

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: I loved doing our first look before the ceremony because it really allowed for a lot of ease throughout the rest of the day. The excitement of tapping Dave on the shoulder and watching his reaction as he turned around was such a great memory.
Groom: Seeing Amanda for the first time and watching her walk down the aisle.

Best wedding related decision: Our best decision was firstly hiring HRM for photography, and also having a wedding coordinator brought in for all the small details.

Favourite detail: I think my favourite detail was my decor (especially my candy bar)! I spent a lot of time and effort creating my own decor that was so true to us and I'm happy with how it all turned out!

Advice for future brides & grooms: Don't sweat the little stuff. I know it sounds easier said than done, but the things you spend hours thinking about are the things no one else will ever notice. And a wedding planner/coordinator doesn't hurt!

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again?  We chose to do a cocktail style reception which I loved, but if I could change anything I would choose to have seating for all of my guests instead of the "cocktail standard" which is seating for 65-70% of your guests.

Best surprise of the day: I think the best surprise of the day was how our wedding brought people together. We had had quite a bit of family related drama before the wedding, and I was so pleased to see that everyone had set their differences aside even if just for that day.

Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?): This is a really hard question because there were hardly any pictures I didn't love. My favourite would have to be the black and white picture of us kissing while I was being slightly dipped back. I think I love it because it's so romantic and very much like a piece of art!

Natalia + Michel
{Steam Whistle Brewery Wedding Photography}

This wedding was the last official wedding of the 2015 season! What an amazing wedding to finish off with! When I first met Natalia & Michel in Port Credit for their consultation, we immediately hit it off! Their wedding took place on a beautiful December day with amazing sunshine and we couldn't have asked for anything more out of the weather orther than maybe a little bit of snow! Instead of snow, I settled (hah!) to head over to the Ripley's Aquarium to get a quick snap of the couple with the jellyfish display! This shot meant so much to them as they had their first date at the Aquarium!

Michel had an adorable suprise for Natalia, he had a giant box filled with balloons for her to open at reception, she had her 30th birthday a few days prior and wanted to acknowledge it since they didn't have a proper celebration with all the wedding commotion going on! The most heart felt moment of the day for me was when Natalia personally thanked HRM Photography for being there, it almost put me to tears knowing that she was so happy with us and hadn't even seen a photo yet! We loved all her decor and woodland forest theme, it came to together so beautifully!

Natalia & Michel, it was such an honour to be a part of your wedding, I LOVE how the images tell the story of your true love and romance! Congrats and I look forward to working with you again!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Vintage, romantic, enchanted, glamorous and earthy.

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: Finally seeing my husband for the first time that day! There was such a build up for hours and hours all morning and afternoon that when I finally saw him, it was such a relief and I could finally enjoy the day with my love.
Groom: Seeing my wife for the first time and the party after!

Best wedding related decision: There were definitely a few I would have to mention: the venue was absolutely magical, my wedding dress and necklace (both were a huge hit) and of course, HRM Photography! We hit it off with Niki the moment that we met her and we have not regretted our decision ever since, she is absolutely unreal.

Favourite detail: The flowers! InTuin Design created my vision and beyond!

Advice for future brides & grooms: Don’t sweat the small stuff and go with your gut; there was not even one moment that I stressed out even if things went wrong and I knew what my vision was from the beginning which made decisions quick, easy and painless.

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? Stretch the wedding out to a two day event! It went by way to quick!

Best surprise of the day: It was my 30th birthday two days before our wedding and because it was such a busy time in our lives, there wasn’t any time for celebrations. During his speech, my amazing husband surprised me with a huge gold box brought to the middle of the dance floor and when I opened it, dozens of balloons flew out with two in the shape of a “3” and a “0” He explained that my birthday went a bit unnoticed and everyone sang happy birthday, it was really special.

Sylvia & Spencer

Happy New Year! We are looking forward to an amazing year to come in 2016,  but still many 2015 (and even some 2014, oops!) weddings to blog! Sylvia & Spencer's beautiful wedding at the London Hunt Club was absolute perfection!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Modern English teatime/high tea

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: Walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing all the people I love in that room
Groom: I loved all the speeches, they were very heartfelt.

Best wedding related decision: Having Designs in Bloom do the flower arrangements. Samirah took all my random centerpieces (teapots and books) and took the time to arrange them herself. It definitely took a lot of time and effort and they turned out even more amazing than I could have ever imagined!

Favourite detail: The teapots and silverware we used in some of the centerpiece arrangements. My mother-in-law and I hunted for them at garage sales for over a year. We had a polishing party to shine it all up!

Advice for future brides & grooms: Take a moment that day to step outside and just be alone with each other to take it all in. Try to talk to as many guests during dinner service (make your rounds to every table)- so that you aren't pulled every which way after... and you can focus on partying the night away on the dance floor!

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? Nothing!

Best surprise of the day: Surprised my dad with a live performance of his favourite song for our father-daughter dance. He was so surprised that the wedding singer could sing the song in Cantonese.

Anything else you'd like to add: Can't believe I had all the best vendors possible: HRM Photography, AV Artisian Production, Designs in Bloom
